An evening of nostalgia was held at The Triangle on 27th April.
The audience were treated to a reminder of times gone by in the superb performance of Cliff Mullins in the role of 80 year old Bert Pinnegar – a retired Head Gardener who appeared in character in his ramshackle greenhouse complete with a selection of “props” appropriate to the time and setting.
We followed his life through 65 years as a gardener from leaving school at 14 and being “taken-on” at the Big House, eventually rising to the position of Head Gardener. We were treated to his trials and tribulations, his love affair with Sophie the housemaid, the ways of the garden itself, the whole evening being a delightful experience which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
It was an evening of great professionalism by a delightful character actor, which held the audience spellbound from start to finish.
The evening was in support of The Rosemary Foundation. Their work is well known and respected in the district and their devoted care for the terminally ill is without equal.
It was a great pleasure to see members of their nursing and support staff able to enjoy a special time with us and we wish them continued success in their vital work.
